The dates have been set, the room has been reserved, and the committee is working very hard to put together a reunion befitting of the great class of 68. The dates are September 14 15, and 16th and our host location is River Spirit Resort and Casino. We have a block of 50 rooms at a reduced rate that River Spirit is holding for classmates. There are several large events planned at River Spirit for that weekend, so we encourage you to book early to ensure availability. We are still finalizing the details and costs for the events, but below is a tentative plan for the reunion:
Friday night: A casual get together at the River Spirit Resort and Casino. We have not reserved space at any of the bars, but we have hospitality suites that can be used to check in and pick up registration packets. There are several restaurant and bar areas within the resort and casino that are available if groups want to congregate after checking in at the hospitality suite, and everyone is responsible to pay for food and beverages in these areas.
Saturday night: We have reserved the Grand Ballroom at River Spirit for an evening of food, dancing and fun. We will have a buffet style dinner, cash bar, and afterwards we can dance the night away with the rockin’ music of THE HOOK (here’s a link to see the song list and hear them play)
This is a really special treat for the class, we want to thank classmate, David Potts, for graciously offering to pay for the band.
Sunday Afternoon: We haven’t finalized the details yet, but we are planning a picnic at a location TBD. This is a family event, so bring the kids, grandkids, great-grandkids, dogs and any food and beverage you want for a good old-fashioned picnic in the park. We are planning a special service, lead by the Rev. Doug Oakes and should provide an inspirational end to this epic event.
Once details for all of the events have been costed and finalized, we will be mailing (and emailing) the registration information and forms for registration.
We have received many generous donations from classmates already, but additional donations are ALWAYS welcome. We are attempting to keep the pricing low for this event, and we are counting on the generosity of our awesomely successful classmates to help make this affordable for all classmates.
